I’m looking for a present for my Nan that is going to be treasured for many years to come.

She only lives in a small bedsit, so it can’t be something that is going to take up too much room. I had thought about a beautiful piece of jewellery, but in all honesty she has so much jewellery so have decided not to get this.

I’m looking at getting her something that is going to be special and unique for her.

Suddenly out of the blue it struck me, why not book a session with our local Brighton Photographer. He captured my wedding day so beautifully so I know he would treat us well and produce some brilliant photos.

I don’t want one of those stuffy pictures where they make the family over to look like the most perfect family ever.    I don’t want us all to be made over so that we don’t look normal. I want him to capture the real us, as we are everyday – warts and all. We are who we are and it doesn’t matter how much make-up we use, nothing is going to change this.

That’s another present sorted, now if only everybody else’s was that simple I could maybe take it easy and start to relax.

There is no chance of that at work at the moment as my boss has just asked me to look into sorting out some commercial photography on our office block. It would seem that we are going to be producing a jazzy portfolio and he wants some stunning photos. As thought I haven’t got enough on my plate at the moment, my niece has just announced she is getting hitched in February and needs to sort out everything, including a photographer.   Naturally she wants the best Sussex Wedding Photographer, so I have put my photographers name forward.   I know he will do a brilliant job. I just hope he isn’t already booked as the wedding is only a matter of weeks away.    Seems strange she is in such a hurry to get married, I wonder if there’s something she isn’t telling me!!

If a squeaky toy doesn’t work, try a high-pitched whistle that can be blown just before the photo is taken. This will alert the dog so she looks attentive.

Most of all, don’t force your dog too much as this will just agitate her. Watch her body language to avoid getting bitten. If she raises the fur on her neck and shoulders or tucks her tail between her legs, this is a warning sign to be heeded. If she raises her upper lip, this usually indicates that the dog is very likely to bite.

If the dog Christmas photo experience proves uncomfortable for your pet, hold her yourself. She will be much more easy and cooperative than she would sitting on Santa’s knee.
