How To Begin Your Own Photo Blog

It seems like almost everyone has a cell phone camera these days that can take photos of just about anything in a matter of moments. Working with electronic photographs instead of the traditional film and paper print photos is cost-effective, there is no wasted paper to end up in landfills and they take up almost no physical space at all!

Whether you’re a pro photographer or an amateur shutterbug you’ll still appreciate the convenience of digital photography. And what is better than just snapping lots of digital pictures is the easy way you can share them with other people. There are many different ways to let others enjoy your photos, from electronic picture frames to printing them out to keeping them on your cell phone.

One of the most fun ways to display your photographs to others is with a photo blog. A “web log” or blog is a website that allows an photographer to publish instant updates onto World Wide Web about just about any subject imaginable. A photo “web log” can include the digital photographs you took on any specific day or trip. You can include your written thoughts about your photographs and you can inform people about why you took the photos and what was happening when you took them.

To start a photography blog you just need to find some no cost blogging software and pick a blog name. Most blogging websites are fairly simple to get started with. You simply type your thoughts out in a post, upload your digital photos from your camera and the blogging software pretty much does the rest. When you are happy with a post you “publish” it and everyone on the planet can instantly view it!

With a photography blog you can not only allow others to see your photos but you can also allow visitors to write comments on your posts. If you allow comments on your photos then you can also learn what other people like and do not like about your photos. Getting commends from views to your blog is part of the excitement of putting your images online. If you are an art photographer then you might use a website to display your recent portfolio of samples.

Don’t worry about always writing a post that’s going to make other people happy. It is your photo blog and you can post photos of whatever you want. You can share photos of a local tourist attraction one day and then post images of some grass in your back yard the next day. Just try to have a good time with the ability to spread your electronic photographs so easily with your own blog!
